Beat Seasonal Allergies with Air Purification

June 24, 2015

It’s the most congested time of the year, allergy season. Spring has sprung and pollen is in the air. If you’re done spending the season itching your eyes and sneezing, an air purification system may help clear some of the irritation.

Allergens and irritants aren’t only lingering outdoors. in reality, indoor air is possibly more polluted than outdoor air and we’re spending around 90% of our time indoors. The ragweed, pollen and dust from the outside air transfers to your inside air. An air purifier will destroy those irritants and particles from your home’s air. In fact, Lennox’s Pureair® Air Purification system combats all three kinds of indoor air pollutants; airborne particles, germs and bacteria and chemical odors and vapors. It cleans your home’s air greater than any other single system you can get.

There are also some things you can do as a homeowner to help combat the pollutants in your home.

  • Remove your shoes before coming inside.
  • Purchase a vacuum with a HEPA filter and use it regularly.
  • If you’ve been spending time out in the yard or garden, clean up.
  • If you have a dog or any pets that run outdoors, clean and brush them frequently.

You may be curious what the difference is between air filtration and an air purification system. Air filters are part of an alternative system and are not capable of killing as many pollutants as an air purifier. Air purifiers are a three-part system in and of themselves and comprise of a regular air filter, UVA light and a metal device that is coated with a light-activated catalyst.
